Terms of Service

This is an English translation of the ChurchLog Terms of Service. If it differs from the Korean original, the Korean original prevails.

Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the church management and operation mobile apps and the admin web provided by ChurchLog (the "Service"), and the rights and obligations of users and the operator.

Article 2 (Provision of the Service)
1. The Service provides features for running a religious organization, such as member attendance (including location-based automatic attendance), announcement and event notifications, small group and department management, membership approval, offering management, facility reservations, pastoral visits, prayer requests, inquiries and suggestions, and devotions.
2. Depending on each church's settings, only some of these features may be available.
3. The Service provider may change or discontinue some features to keep the Service running reliably, and announces important changes in advance.

Article 3 (Sign-up and eligibility)
1. You sign up for the Service by verifying your mobile phone number by text message (SMS), and only users approved by their church can use the Service.
2. If the information you provide when signing up is untrue, your use of the Service may be restricted.

Article 4 (Users' obligations)
1. Users must comply with these Terms and the relevant laws.
2. Users must not collect, use or disclose other users' personal information without permission. In particular, users must not use member information viewed through church administration permissions, or offering, prayer request and pastoral visit records, for any other purpose, or leak them outside.
3. Users must not interfere with the operation of the Service or use it by improper means.

Article 5 (The Service provider's obligations)
1. The Service provider makes efforts to provide the Service reliably.
2. To protect users' personal information, the Service provider establishes and publishes a separate Privacy Policy.

Article 6 (Posts and content)
1. The author is responsible for content they post, such as posts and images.
2. Content that infringes the rights of others or violates the law or these Terms may be deleted without prior notice.
3. The Service has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for harassment of users. Profanity, defamation, discrimination, hate speech, obscene material, violent or threatening expressions, spam, and harassing or impersonating others are prohibited. Such content is deleted as soon as it is found, and the user who posted it may have their use of the Service suspended or their account deleted without prior notice.
4. Users can report inappropriate content with the in-app "Report" feature. The operator and the church's administrators review a report within 24 hours of receiving it and take the necessary action, such as deleting or hiding the content or restricting the user.
5. Users can use the in-app "Block" feature to hide a particular user's posts from their own screen. The blocked user is not notified, and you can unblock them in "More > Blocked members".
6. The Service may automatically prevent posts containing inappropriate expressions from being published.
7. A person whose rights, such as privacy or reputation, are infringed by a post may ask for that post to be deleted or temporarily hidden, through the contact in Article 13 or the in-app "Inquiries · Suggestions". On receiving the request, the operator and the church's administrators take the necessary action, such as deletion or temporary hiding, without delay, and let both the person who asked and the person who posted know.
8. Temporary hiding means hiding a post from other users for a period of up to 30 days at the request in paragraph 7. It is used when it is hard to judge whether rights are infringed or a dispute between the parties is expected, and within that period the operator and the church's administrators either make the post visible again or delete it.
9. Even without a request, the operator and the church's administrators may hide a post when handling a report or when they judge that the post infringes these Terms or the rights of others. Unlike the temporary hiding in paragraph 8, this hiding has no set period and lasts until an administrator makes the post visible again or deletes it.
10. A user who posted content may object to its deletion or temporary hiding through the contact in Article 13.

Article 7 (Restriction of use)
If a user violates these Terms, the Service provider may restrict their use of the Service or cancel their membership.

Article 8 (Account deletion and withdrawal)
1. Users can withdraw at any time through the in-app "Delete account" menu or the contact.
2. On withdrawal, personal information is deleted without delay, except what must be kept under the relevant laws.
3. If a church has no administrator sign-ins, no member app use and no new records for 6 months, the Service may make that church dormant. The church's top administrator is notified by text message (Korean mobile numbers) and by admin app notification 30 days before the church becomes dormant and when it does. Information is not deleted while a church is dormant, and dormancy ends as soon as an administrator signs in.
4. The Service may delete a dormant church's information after notifying the top administrator by text message and admin app notification 30 days and 7 days before deletion; if an administrator signs in during that time, the deletion is cancelled. A church that has had no members other than administrators and no records for more than 3 months since it was created is deleted after a notice 14 days in advance. Deleted information cannot be restored.
5. Offering, ledger and donation receipt records that a church must keep under the law must be downloaded from the admin app and kept by the church. Records of the church's payments to ChurchLog for storage and donations are kept by the operator for the period set by tax law (5 years), even after the church is deleted.

Article 9 (Paid service — storage)
1. Every church can use all features of the Service for free, and each church gets 5GB of storage for photos and files for free. This does not depend on the number of members.
2. A church may buy storage in units of 50GB. The fee is KRW 30,000 per year for each 50GB (value-added tax included). For a church whose country in its church information is the United States, it is US$21 per year (US dollars), and for a church whose country is Canada, CA$30 per year (Canadian dollars), with no value-added tax. Storage you buy is added for one year from the day the operator confirms the payment; if you buy more than once, each purchase is added for its own period.
3. Anyone — a church or an individual — may donate to the Service. A donation supports the operation of the Service, and donations are used across the running of the Service, such as servers, sending text messages and helping churches that run out of storage. Donations are not turned into storage, and the donating church's own storage does not grow. The operator may, at its discretion, add storage free of charge to a church that is running out of storage under paragraph 8. A donation is not a charitable contribution, so we do not issue charitable donation receipts; the proof of payment is the cash receipt in paragraph 7. The donor decides the amount.
4. Fees and donations are paid by bank transfer to the account shown in the admin web under '교회 운영 › 저장 공간·후원' (Church operations › Storage & support). Please put the church's deposit code shown on that screen as the depositor name. Churches in the United States and Canada pay by an ordinary domestic bank transfer (ACH in the United States, EFT in Canada) to the account in their country shown on that screen, and should put the church's deposit code in the transfer memo. Bank fees for sending by international wire are borne by the church, and checks are not accepted. Individuals donate by bank transfer to the donation account shown on the Service's pricing page, with their name as the depositor name, and the operator records it from the bank statement.
5. Storage you buy and storage the operator adds free of charge are not renewed or charged automatically. The Service notifies the church's administrators 30 days and 7 days before purchased storage ends and on the day it ends, and 3 days before storage added free of charge ends.
6. For 14 days after the period ends, that storage stays as it is (grace period), and after that the church's storage goes down by that amount. This does not delete photos, files or records already uploaded; if the storage in use exceeds the reduced limit, only new uploads are restricted.
7. Cash receipts are issued only for fees and donations paid in Korean won. For a church, a cash receipt for expense proof is issued to the number given when reporting the payment (such as the church's unique number); for an individual donation, it is issued to the number the donor sends to the contact in Article 13 (such as a mobile phone number). The operator is a simplified taxpayer and does not issue tax invoices.
8. The operator may add storage free of charge for a set period, for a trial or to help a church that is running out of storage; when that period ends, the storage goes down by that amount without any separate payment.
9. If the operator has set a separate storage limit for a church, that limit applies, and during that time the church cannot buy storage or donate.
10. Changes to the fees are announced 30 days in advance and do not apply to the period of a payment already confirmed.

Article 10 (Withdrawal of purchase and refunds)
1. Within 7 days of the day the payment is confirmed, you may ask for a full refund of the fee paid, whether or not you have used the Service.
2. After 7 days, the remaining period is calculated in months (any part of a month is excluded) and refunded accordingly.
3. If the Service is discontinued for reasons on the operator's side, the remaining period is calculated in days and refunded.
4. Donations are not refunded once the operator has confirmed the payment (a confirmed donation goes to running the Service). Before it is confirmed, the church can withdraw its payment notice; please report a donation sent by mistake through the contact in Article 13.
5. Refund requests are made through the contact in Article 13, and the operator refunds to the account the fee was paid from within 3 business days of receiving the request. Refunds to churches in the United States and Canada are made in the currency the fee was paid in, and the transfer fee for sending it back is borne by the church and deducted from the refunded amount (this also applies to the full refund in paragraph 1). Storage added for a refunded payment goes down with the refund.

Article 11 (Limitation of liability)
The Service provider is not liable for damage caused by natural disasters, communication failures, or reasons attributable to the user.

Article 12 (Dispute resolution)
Disputes concerning these Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Service provider's head office has exclusive jurisdiction.
